Elf on the Shelf brings joy (and a little incentive…) to children everywhere during the holiday season, but one little girl is particularly annoyed with her elf’s mischievous acts. In a TikTok video posted by user justice_kirra_ that has now gone viral, the camera depicts two elves—one sitting in a microwave atop a pile of loose popcorn, and one laid out on the counter underneath one—with a messy food situation taking place in the kitchen. But it wasn’t the troublesome elves that had people talking, it was the spunky little girl who was stressed as a result of the mess she discovered they had made, and the course of action she decided to take as a result. Text over the comedic clip read: “My daughter threw her elves away because “they” make too big of messes 🤣🤣 little does she know she’s doing me a favor 😏” The snippet then shows the family’s trash can, where two additional elves lay inside helplessly—the obvious consequence of wreaking havoc all over the house. As the little girl’s mom (who was recording the video) asked her daughter why she threw the elves away, the little girl responded in a vexed tone of voice, squealing, “They’re making a big mess!” Attempting to tidy some of the chaos by scooping popcorn into a plate from the counter, she continued her scolding, adding, “And it’s not his house—he don’t care about it!” The comment section lit up with countless notes in response to the hilarious yet adorable holiday fiasco. “She said she works too hard to make this house a home 😂” one TikToker wrote, as another penned, “She said ‘what bills they paying to make a mess like this?’” “She making sure Santa don’t accidentally put her on the naughty lists for their nonsense 🤣” another joked.
