Today’s Wordle Answer #243: Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022
If you need a hint about today’s Wordle answer, you may want to shack up with another player and maybe rattle and roll some ideas around in your brain until you come to the correct conclusion. For today’s Wordle starting word, we went with “RAINY,” inspired by the upcoming torrential downpours in our forecast and hopeful that the vowels A and I, plus consonants R, N and Y, would come in handy. Only A did, but at least we narrowed down the others, right? Once more inspired by the weather, which will be unseasonably warm today (what’s good, climate change?), we opted for “STEAMY.” Our S was in the right place, and we decided to go outside of our usual “S_ _ _ E” box, opting for “SEPAL” as our next try. As it turns out, we should probably just stay in our comfort zone forever, because it never seems to pay off for us when we step out of it! No new letters were revealed, though we did determine the E and A placements simply by process of elimination. From there, we shuffled around our remaining consonants. We tested out “SHADE,” which, while not the solution to the puzzle, certainly made getting the answer easier, as we were only off by a single letter. We shook the letters around in our minds for a bit and came up with “SHAKE,” which was the Wordle answer for today. By some strange wizardry, our pal who uses “JUICE” as a starting word every single morning got it in three tries: “JUICE,” then “ALONE” then “SHAKE.” We think they deserve a shake (of the milk variety) for a job very well done.
