“When my oldest started getting bullied in Kindergarten I knew we needed to double down at home on how to block out the noise of the world and love ourselves regardless,” she shared in a post of her and her two kids on Instagram. “I had no idea how to do this so I just started a morning and evening practice around tasks we do everyday so we have consistency in the work.” Each morning while Huckaby does her daughters Lilah and Sloan’s hair, she asks them to tell her three affirmations: three things they love about themselves, three things they are thankful for and three things they are looking forward to that day. We could all use a little reminder about being kind to ourselves. At the end of the day, during dinner, the girls repeat the process of self-love by saying five things that happened that day that they are thankful for, one thing they love about themself and one thing they love about the person sitting next to them. Huckaby goes first and “leads by example.” Like any mom, she recognizes that it can be hard for people, at any age, to come up with positive self-talk, but regardless, they always “show up for each other.” Huckaby reports that this daily practice has been great for connecting her family and instilling self-love and gratitude. She asked all her followers to comment one “thing you love about yourself.”  More Pop Culture:
